The Marias Concert Poster
The Marias are one of my favorite bands of all time. When given the opportunity to design a poster for a band, of course I chose them. The inspiration for the poster came from 90s movies. A common characteristic that all movies from the early 90s was that they were shot with film. I wanted to incorporate film throughout the poster and brand systems. The repeating name and location of the concert shows motion similar to moving film strips.
I extended the theme of film in the mural and VIP passes by giving them a grungy look that also incorporates the feeling of The Marias alternative music. The t-shirts have CINEMA repeating to convey motion of film.
